As Trent explained, The Message Trust works with at-risk youth in urban, inner-city, and poor communities to try and raise up generations by breaking the cycle of poverty, crime, gang membership, and unemployment.
Among the organization’s ministries are two that provide support for incarcerated youth. One ministry works with those who are in prison, providing encouragement and preparing them for their release. The other enterprise is named Gangstar. These people help youth who have been released from prison by providing entrepreneurial support, employment opportunities, and mentorship.
Trent shared, “They also have a creative missions team that has a band which travels to different schools and youth groups. They perform and minister to students through song, spoken word, and testimony. Another school ministry team visits schools to discuss issues such as rape, drugs, gang-related behaviors, bullying, and self-esteem issues.”
“This organization is all about kids,” Trent explained. “They offer after-school programs that keep kids off the streets. They teach art, dance, music, and offer mentorship.”

It’s wonderful to think that we get to play even a small part in that.”
